ybs’s main fascination is human body and behaviour. the form, the skin, the inner states made prominent and vivid by the subject’s posture as well as the texture of the applied media. it is hard to be convincing without having experienced the emotions one puts on their canvas. ybs believes that the real-life emotion and energy end up sticking to the canvas mixing up with the paint. and thus it seems that talking of what you feel, think, experience is the only fair way to be on your canvas. subjects often appear calm and static on the surface, while a gaze, unblended colours or textures created by layers of palette knife strokes give away the inner intensity and abundance of feelings.
