dOCUMENTA is one of the largest and most important contemporary art exhibitions in the world. It takes place every five years in Kassel, Germany.
dOCUMENTA began as a temporary art exhibition as a means to vindicate the democratic value of art. Since dOCUMENTA (1) organized by Arnold Bode in 1955, an international curator is invited every five years to exhibit the complexity of aesthetics and contemporary creativity. This event has gained indisputable acclaim over the years in the art world. The artists who have the chance to exhibit their work at dOCUMENTA rapidly gain international recognition.
