23 international artists have been selected for Luis Adelantado’s Call 2014
For the sixteenth Call 2014, 23 international artists were selected from more than 500 proposals submitted. Call 2014 is an international contest which this year, has been greatly strenghtened by the Fran Vila Prize. The selection has been made by the director of the gallery Olga Adelantado.

For Adelantado, this year’s participation has been lower than in previous editions, but as she explains "we have noted that the quality of proposals has increased considerably, which indicates the increased professionalization of artists we were already seeing in previous editions"
"Also noteworthy is the quality of the work of Spanish artists compared to previous years, a total of 18 Spanish artists, although many of them is found living outside Spain. The Spanish is followed by the Swiss and French, two from each country, one Chilean artist, a Brazilian artist, an Australian, a Portuguese, an Ecuadorian and Mexican. Which sums up to a total of 23 artists?
Since last year, reinforcing this contest, we have counted with the Franc Vila Prize. In its second edition, the owner of the high-end watches brand, will announce the works that will become part of his collection on July 10, coinciding with the opening of the exhibition.
Franc Vila explained: "This acquisition award, apart from expanding and focusing my collection on the line to which I have directed it in recent years, is a major commitment to emerging art and the work the gallery does with this call, as it gives more visibility to young artists for the progression and recognition of their careers."
The artistic career of the participants is very diverse and plural, although their age is between 24 and 36 years, many of them despite being in the first stage of their career, have to their credit, an outstanding record of presence in galleries and institutions, which is a symptom of their thoroughness and professional involvement. Some have already achieved awards and important mentions.
The means by which they express themselves in their work, are as diverse and broad as their backgrounds. Ranging from photography, drawing, painting, intervention, collage, installation, sculptural object, to video or sound work.
The 23 artists participating in the sixteenth edition are: Ana Barriga (Spain), Pablo Bellot (Spain), Leonora Bisagno (Switzerland), Arturo Comas (Spain), Diego Delas (Spain), Tamara Feijoo (Spain), Inma Femenía/ Andrés Wittke (Spain), Muriel Gallardo (Chile), Ben Gavin (Australia), Ferrán Gisbert (Spain), Manuel Güdel (Switzerland), Clarence Guéna (France), Ana H Del Amo (Spain), Alex Marco (Spain), Miguel Marina (Spain), Simon Ripoll-Hurier (France), Filipa Roque (Portugal), Milena Rossignoli (Ecuador), Gema Rupérez (Spain), Alberto Salván (Spain), Ismael Teira (Spain), Pedro Torres (Brazil), Ernesto Walker (Mexico).
